Publishing Policy for Editorial Board Members

The Bulletin of the Iraq Natural History Museum ensures that all editorial board members follow strict ethical and publishing standards to maintain transparency and avoid conflicts of interest.

1. Submission of Manuscripts by Editors

  • Editorial board members are allowed to submit manuscripts to the journal.
  • Their submissions must undergo the same peer-review process as any other author.
  • Editors cannot handle or influence the review process of their own manuscripts.

2. Conflict of Interest

  • Editors must disclose any personal, professional, or financial conflict of interest related to a submitted manuscript.
  • Another editor or an independent guest editor will handle the review process in such cases.

3. Peer Review

  • Manuscripts submitted by editors are subject to double-blind peer review.
  • Reviewers are selected for expertise and impartiality.

4. Ethical Compliance

  • Editors must adhere to COPE guidelines and all journal policies on originality, plagiarism, and ethical publication.
  • Any ethical misconduct will be investigated and addressed promptly, just as for other authors.

5. Transparency

  • Editorial board members’ publications in the journal are documented and publicly disclosed to maintain transparency.
  • Editors must avoid any preferential treatment in the publication process.
